Mileage Reimbursement

PNNRS reimburses match officials for travel to matches using the following formula:

  • Reimbursement = 25c/mile for any roundtrip of 30 miles or more.
    The first 30 miles are not reimbursed.

The reimbursement must be claimed in Match Facts and is non-taxable

Accommodation

Where an event is less than 5 hours, and accommodation is not provided by the event organizer, PNRRS will reimburse match officials for 1 night's accommodation (either the night before or the night of the event) where:

  • Travel of more than 4 hours one-way is required between the referee’s home and the ground, OR

  • Travel of more than 2 hours one-way is required between the referee’s home and the ground and the match ends at 7 pm (or later) or starts at 10 am (or earlier).

Where an event is at least 5 hours or spans multiple days, and accommodation is not provided by the event organizer, PNRRS will reimburse match officials for accommodation as follows:

  • The night before the event if travel of more than 4 hours one-way is required between the referee's home and the gound and the event starts at 12 pm (or earlier) OR if travel of more than 2 hours one-way is required between the referee's home and the ground and the event starts at 10 am (or earlier).

  • Nights during the event for multi-day events

  • The night the event ends if travel of more than 4 hours one-way is required between the referee's home and the ground and the event ends at 2 pm (or later) OR if travel of more than 2 hours one-way is required between the referee's home and the ground and the event ends at 5 pm (or later).

If match officials have other accommodation available to them - eg family, friends - this should be utilised before requesting accommodation from PNRRS.

Accommodation selected should be within 10% of the US government’s daily lodging rates for the area - see Per diem rates | GSA. Treasurer approval is required in advance for higher rates.

If travelling in a group, match officials should attempt to stay together and where appropriate share rooms.

Accommodation must be approved in advance by the allocator.

Air Travel

PNRRS will reimburse match officials for air travel where:

  • Travel by land exceeds 6 hours one-way and air travel is more time efficient

The lowest cost option must be chosen.

Air travel must be approved in advance by the PNRRS board

Meals/Incidentals

PNRRS does not reimburse match officials for meals and other incidentals while traveling for matches.
